Three Arrested in Norwich Heroin Sales Investigation

Three Chenango County residents are being charged in connection with an investigation into heroin sales in the county.

Sheriff’s officials say 28 year old Ashley Wakefield of the City of Norwich, 22 year old Keith Johnson of New Berlin and 23 year old Andrew Cleveland of New Berlin were arrested January 22 in the Town of Norwich. 

Officials say Johnson was found to have 10 bags of heroin in his possession while Wakefield reportedly had a hypodermic needle and prescription drugs in her possession.

Wakefield is charged with attempted sale of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  She was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 bail.

Johnson is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Cleveland was charged with facilitation and issued a court appearance ticket.
