Three Cortland County men have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of three chainsaws from a residence in Cortlandville.

Police say the three men, 32 year-old Matthew Schooley, 23 year-old Michael Murtha, and 35 year-old Jeffery Craig Jr., took the chainsaws from a storage building on Route 13 in the Town.  The men sold one of the saws at a local pawn shop.

Schooley and Murtha were discovered by police in the Riverside Plaza as they were waiting to sell the other two chainsaws, which they had in their possession.  Craig was located a short time later.

All three men are charged with Burglary, Petit Larceny, and Conspiracy. They were arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail on $15,000 bail.

They were scheduled to be back in court on Thursday.
