Broome County Sheriff’s officials and New York State Police are investigating another armed robbery of a local gas station/convenience store.

Authorities say shortly before 8 p.m. October 22, a man approached an employee taking out trash outside the Mirabito Gas Station on Old Route 17 in the Town of Windsor and forced the employee back inside at gunpoint.  The suspect then emptied the cash registered and fled on foot south toward Route 17.

The man is described as white, standing about five-feet, six-inches tall with a slender build, possibly 130 to 140 pounds, wearing a gray sport coat, jeans, sunglasses, red, black and white sneakers, and had a white t-shirt covering his head and face.

Authorities at the scene said they didn’t think this was the first time the man may have robbed a business.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office tip line at (607) 778-1196.

This is the third convenience store robbery in the region in a week.  The two other robberies happened several hours apart on October 20.
