“The Rewrite” To Be Shown in Binghamton

The Rewrite, the movie written and directed by Binghamton University graduate Marc Lawrence, will be screened in a downtown Binghamton theater.

The movie, which opened in limited release earlier this month, will be shown at The Art Mission and Theater starting February 27.

The theater, which is located at 61 Prospect Avenue, plans to screen The Rewrite at 7:15 p.m. February 27 and 28. It also will be shown at 3 p.m. March 1 and at 7:15 p.m. on March 3.

About 1,200 people attended a special screening of the movie February 8 on the Binghamton University campus.

Marc Lawrence and Hugh Grant, who stars in The Rewrite, attended the screening event and answered questions from the audience after the film was shown.

The romantic comedy also stars J.K. Simmons, Allison Janney and Chris Elliott.

Some of the movie's scenes were shot on the Binghamton University campus in Vestal and in other parts of Broome County. Most of the production was shot on a Long Island campus.
