If you are looking for your Halloween pumpkin a good place to visit is Our Lady of Sorrows, 157 Clark Street in Vestal. Over this past weekend they received a shipment of over 2,000 pumpkins from the Navajo Indians in New Mexico.

Dozens of church volunteers turned out to help unload the truck and put the pumpkins in place on the Our Lady of Sorrows front lawn.  The pumpkins are available for purchase with proceeds going to benefit three different youth groups as well as helping to fund visits to  Christian leadership conferences.

People can purchase pumpkins everyday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. Parishioners staff the sale on weekdays and youth group participants staff the sale area after school and weekends.  Our Lady of Sorrows purchases the pumpkins from the Navajo Indians and the church only has to pay for pumpkins actually bought by customers.  Any pumpkins that are left when the sale ends will be given to local farmers..
