The Maines Veterans Memorial Arena Due for State Funds

The Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton is poised to get $1.5 million from New York State to make improvements.

The Empire Center is reporting $1.2 billion had been included in the recently passed state budget for member-item projects around the state championed by the governor or legislators.

One big-ticket item is the not-so-secret state-funded renovations to CBS’ Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan that houses the Late Show. The state is footing $5 million for that project. But the biggest allocation is $35 million for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute near Albany.
