Speaking on the March 11 edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, retiring Catholic Schools of Broome County President, Richard Bucci talks about the twists and turns of his careers over the decades.

Bucci says he's been a part-time teacher, a high school teacher, municipal planner, Mayor of the City of Binghamton, administrator in the Vestal Central School District, Principal of Seton Catholic Central and president of the Broome Catholic Schools.

Bucci talks about some of the things he is most proud of in the Catholic School System including students' involvement in the community, volunteering in Haiti, academic achievements and the sports accomplishments, especially for such a small district.

Bucci is leaving his future plans open but says, at least for now, they don't involve running for office again.

He says he "may pop up somewhere", however.

The former Mayor leaves the district in June.

Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
