A landmark Bradford County, Pennsylvania butcher shop is gone.

The Dotti Lou Meat Shop in Stevensville went up in flames at around 4:30 a.m. June 12.

Many residents of the Southern Tier of New York would make a point of traveling to the shop to purchase ribs, sausages and other products.

The business owners: the Scabazzo family says the building was run on natural gas and there were several propane tanks in a trailer.

Some employees of Southwestern Energy, who were heading into work, stopped at the scene and helped the owners retrieve some items from inside the business before the roof collapsed. One of those items reportedly was the priceless book of recipes.

There were no injuries.

Investigators say it’s believed the fire started with an electrical problem in the ceiling.

The owners say they plan to rebuild.

The shop on Route 706 opened in 1978.
