The former Police Chief in the Village of Greene is to be sentenced in November after pleading guilty yesterday to two counts of official misconduct and one count of criminal contempt.

43 year old Stephen Dutcher had been arrested in April after Village officials reported missing items and items like tires, a vacuum cleaner and other items being purchased with Village money that allegedly turned up in Dutcher’s possession.

The contempt charge alleged Dutcher had violated an order of protection against his estranged wife.

The former Chief has been ordered to pay $3,038 in restitution for the improperly acquired tires, dog cage and rifles. If he pays up, he could be given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Under the original arrest, Dutcher had been charged with felony grand larceny but bargained down to the lesser counts.
