The Broome County Parks Triathlon is Coming

Runners, bikers and swimmers return to Whitney Point to test their skills.

The 2018 Broome County Parks Triathlon is set for June 30^th, starting at 9 a.m. at Dorchester Park.

Online registration at www.gobroomecounty.com/parks ends June 24th.

Participants must be members of USA Triathlon, but people can sign up for a one-day membership.

The cost of the Triathlon is $50, $15 for the kids’ race. A portion of the proceeds goes toward the Handicap Children Playground Fund.

The event has three different race distances and two races for children.  For adults, the Triathlon and Aqua Bike distances are a half mile swim, 12 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. The Duathlon is a 1.5 mile run, 12 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run.  For the children, the short course is a 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike and 1/4 mile run. The long course is a 100 yard swim, three mile bike and 1/2 mile run.
