Thai Time Enjoyed as Binghamton Restaurant Week Winds Down
Thai Time Restaurant at 96 Front St., Binghamton, near the intersection of Front and Main Streets, is proof you should never judge a restaurant by its façade.

Week, which ends soon, we may have passed over this delicious gem.
We started with a battered fried calamari appetizer that was served with a sweet and sour sauce. What a nice change from the typical marinara accompaniment! Sorry, no photos. We ate it too fast.
For our entrees, seriously, how
could you possibly go wrong with something called ‘Drunken Noodle?’ Thai Time was quick to accommodate a request to make the dish, normally containing chicken and shrimp, vegetarian for us. It was a slightly spicy, generous portion of fried rice noodles with baby corn, mushrooms, broccoli and other vegetables. If you are afraid of spice, don’t worry Thai Time can adjust that too.
The other entrée was Cashew Chicken Stir Fry. The nuts played well with the flavor of the chicken, vegetables, dried chili and tamarind chili sauce. WAAL’s Don Morgan ‘make all gone!’
Dessert bordered on the sinful with, again, a generous sized, individual molten lava cake oozing its warm chocolate liquid center toward the scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Thai Time manager, Rob was so friendly and obviously proud of the restaurant, taking us on a tour, even through the kitchen and out to the beautiful deck overlooking the Chenango River and Downtown on the other shore. Too bad it was too chilly to eat out on the deck when we were there!
Thai Time has an impressive Asian-style menu and is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner, Saturday from noon to ten and Sunday from noon to nine. They also have take-out, delivery and catering. Orders can be called in at (607) 724-Thai (8424).
