28 year old James MacMillan of Elmira turned himself in to authorities in Cortland County Thursday, May 12 and is charged with three counts of unlawfully fleeing a police officer and 46 traffic violations.

Sheriff’s Deputies had pursued MacMillan on McGraw Marathon Road in the Village of McGraw at 12:19 p.m. May 11 with the car ripping through a yard and speeding off onto Irish Hill Road to Ferber Road where the vehicle was recovered.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police K9 unit and even helicopter patrols.

Authorities say the vehicle MacMillan sped off in was a car he was actually test-driving.

MacMillan was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $5,000 bail.
