A Whitney Point teen and a Johnson City teen are accused of taking a joy ride in a stolen car and crashing at the intersection of Burbank Avenue and Division Street in Johnson City.

After a week-long investigation into the theft of three vehicles from several locations in the Village, Police arrested 19 year old James Corey and the 16 year old boy yesterday.

Authorities say the boys led police from several agencies and jurisdictions in a chase as they refused orders for them to stop.

After crashing, the two reportedly ran into Floral Park Cemetery where they were apprehended.

Corey is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of obstructing governmental administration and issued a dozen traffic tickets.  The 16 year old is charged with felony reckless endangerment, fleeing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration, felony criminal possession of stolen property and issued 14 traffic tickets.

More charges are pending from other agencies including New York State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s office, Binghamton Police, Vestal Police and Binghamton University Police.
