Teens Charged In Ithaca School Burglary
Two teenage boys have been accused of stealing computers and cash from a Tompkins County elementary school.
Authorities say the suspects are 14-years-old and 15-years-old. They were apprehended following a foot chase after police officers saw two people exit a school on West Buffalo Street in Ithaca.
Police say officers were sent to the Beverly J. Martin Elementary School late Thursday night after a burglar alarm was triggered.
Officers took the two suspects into custody without incident.
Investigators say two computers and two moneybags containing less than $150 had been taken from the building. Those items were recovered at the scene.
The boys apparently gained entry to the school by breaking a window. Their cases will be handled by Tompkins County Family Court.
