A 17-year-old Brooklyn boy has been indicted in connection with the shooting of a Binghamton man.

Dajhoun Perez was indicted by a Broome County grand jury on several counts, including second-degree assault and first-degree attempted assault. He also faces two weapon possession counts.

Police had charged Perez with attempted murder after his arrest in connection with a June 12 shooting on Roberts Street.

Investigators said Perez shot a 21-year-old man in the leg following an argument.

A police SWAT team was deployed after the shooting. Perez was taken into custody after a brief standoff.
