Teen Dies in ATV Crash in Sherburne

Chenango County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a fatal all terrain vehicle crash.

Authorities responded to Blanding Road in the Town of Sherburne at 7:48 p.m. May 5 and found a 14 year old Madison, New York boy pinned, face-down under an overturned ATV.

Investigators say it appears the teen hit a piece of farm equipment that caused the ATV to go over an embankment.

The teen was thrown from the vehicle and pinned under it.

The boy was taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Along with the Sheriff’s Office, the Sherburne and Norwich Fire Department, Sherburne Police and Cooperstown Medical Transport crews responded to the scene.
