Teachout, who challenged Governor Andrew Cuomo in a September Democratic primary, is scheduled to discuss her new book, "Corruption In America: From Benjamin Franklin's Snuff Box to Citizens United."

Teachout is to sign copies of her book during an appearance Friday at RiverRead Books on Court Street.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

Copies of Teachout's book were on display at the bookstore this afternoon, along with a poster promoting her planned visit.

There were no copies of Cuomo's just-published memoir available at the store and an employee didn't know when the governor's book would be coming in.

Governor Cuomo is to hold a book signing event at a Manhattan Barnes & Noble store Wednesday evening.

Cuomo is not believed to have any similar events scheduled in the Binghamton area.
