Law professor Zephyr Teachout says she's "just thrilled" with how well her campaign performed against Governor Andrew Cuomo's well-financed reelection operation.

The latest unofficial returns from Tuesday's Democratic primary voting showed Cuomo defeating Teachout by a margin of 62 to 34 percent. Political activist Randy Credico received about 3.6 percent.

Cuomo defeated Teachout in Broome County. But Teachout received more votes than the incumbent governor in neighboring Tioga, Chenango, Cortland and Delaware counties.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program this morning, Teachout attributed much of her strength to her outspoken opposition to fracking in New York state.

Teachout declined to say whether she would endorse Cuomo or whether she planned to vote for him in the November election. She indicated she'll have more to say about that in the near future.
