Pennsylvania State Police say they suspect tainted heroin is responsible for the deaths of three men in Bradford County between Saturday, February 13 and Monday, February 15.

Officials say they suspect heroin that is circulating through the county has been laced with fentanyl, which is potentially lethal even at very low levels.

Authorities say fentanyl is an anesthesia drug that is often used to increase the potency of diluted heroin.

The men were 27, 28 and 49 years old and lived in Wysox, Granville and Sheshequin Townships.

The investigation is continuing.
