Intoxicated Driver Damages Downtown Streetscape

A drunken driver has been blamed for knocking down a recently-planted tree and some decorative features installed as part of downtown Binghamton's Court Street Gateway Project.

The crash happened in front of the Security Mutual Building on Exchange Street, just south of Court Street

Old Court Street traffic signals are being replaced as part of the Gateway Project.

Syracuse Signal Systems workers Friday installed traffic signals and pedestrian signals.

Traffic at the intersection of Court and State streets may flow more smoothly because sensors have been installed beneath the pavement to regulate the signal
