A grant from Binghamton University is being used to pay for a more visible police presence in the heart of the Johnson City business district.

Several people apparently were aware a man had been shot near a Johnson City tavern but none of them called the police to report the incident.

Police believe a Johnson City blaze that left several people homeless started as a result of a meth-making operation in the apartment building.
