A Syracuse man is charged with felony drunk driving in Chenango County with a reported blood alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit at .17%.

38 year old Erik Barber was arrested by New York State Police at 12:55 a.m. November 25 on State Route 8 in the Town of New Berlin after authorities had a report of an erratic driver.

Troopers say they also found Barber unlawfully possessed a handgun in his vehicle.

Officials say the felony DWI charge against Barber is the result of his prior drunk driving conviction in the last ten years.  Barber is also charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and traffic violations.

He’s been ordered to appear in New Berlin Court in December.
