The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are taking input about flooding concerns in the region and help create flood-damage reduction plans.

Public meeting were scheduled for November 22 at the Chenango Community Meeting Room in the Chenango Town Hall on Upper Front Street at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Local officials, flood management professionals and residents from Broome, Chenango and Cortland Counties as well as surrounding areas were expected to attend and offer input.

An additional public scope meeting was scheduled for November 30 in the Village of Sidney.

Officials say they expect their study of flooding in the upper Susquehanna River Basin to take three years to complete.

A draft report and Environmental Impact Statement are expected to be publicly released in April, 2018.
