Officials are looking into the cause of a fire that left a Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania family homeless and several of their pets dead.

The blaze was reported at a mobile home on Route 171 in Oakland Township at 9:43 a.m. October 6 and destroyed the structure.

The family of four wasn’t home at the time and the blaze was reported when relatives living nearby saw smoke.

Firefighters from Susquehanna, Great bend, Hallstead, Thompson and Windsor worked at the scene.
