There'll be no presidential candidate visits in Broome County between now and November 6. But some unsuspecting Binghamton-area residents were stunned to see the Mitt Romney campaign bus traveling in the region.

A WNBF Binghamton Now listener was among those surprised when he spotted the campaign vehicle on Route 201 in Vestal early Monday afternoon.

In an email, the listener said he saw the Romney bus while returning to work from his lunch break. He summed it up with one word: "Awesome."

Ann Romney is believed to have stayed at a Vestal hotel Sunday night before she headed to Pennsylvania for campaign appearances.

The Romney campaign bus was in the hotel parking lot off the Vestal Parkway for several hours.

Hotel employees declined to comment about the visitors from the Romney campaign, citing the Secret Service's preference that such matters not be discussed.
