Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, long-time star in professional wrestling, has been charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend over 30 years ago.  Prosecutors announced the results of a grand jury investigation September 1 implicating Snuka in the death of 23 year-old Nancy Argentino of Brooklyn, New York in 1983.

Authorities were called to a hotel room near Allentown, Pa. to investigate a possible death.  Snuka and his girlfriend were in the area for a wrestling show in the Allentown area.  Following the investigation Snuka was never charged and maintained that he never struck or threatened Argentino and police were never able to build a case against him.

According to published reports investigators read Snuka's autobiography published in 2012 and found discrepancies in his story about the incident and what he told police at the time.  Prosecutors announced the results of a grand jury investigation and pressed charges against Snuka.

Snuka is now 72 years of age and living in Waterford Township, New Jersey.  He was  sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $100,000.
