Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A SUNY Broome Community College student has been accused of attacking a fellow student in the residence hall on the Town of Dickinson campus.

Authorities say the assault occurred around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Student Village on the campus, just off Upper Front Street.

According to a statement released by the college, the injured student was taken to a hospital for treatment. Reports from the scene indicated the student, who is believed to be 18-years-old, had been stabbed. He was reported in good condition Sunday evening.

The suspect – 22-year-old Miguel Collazo of Brooklyn – was arrested by SUNY Broome Public Safety officers. He was charged with second-degree assault and ordered held in Broome County Jail without bail following his arraignment in Dickinson town court.

College officials did not release information on what may have caused the dispute.
