With sunny skies and temperatures expected to move into the mid 60's people all around the area are looking to get outdoors.  Temperatures are expected in the 50's or 60's through the weekend and hit the low 70's by Monday.  This is quite a switch from the biting winds and bitterly cold temperatures we have been struggling with this spring.

The Vestal Rail Trail is one place that will see a lot of visitors heading into the weekend.  The Rail Trail is also going to be the site of the Run for Your Heart Coal House 5K.  The event will be held on Sunday, April 27 beginning at 1 PM. The race will help increase awareness of fitness and illustrate the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Entry  for the 5K run is $22 with shirt for pre-registration and $15 pre-registration without shirt.  Race day registration without shirt is $25.  The top three places in each female/male age group, first overall female and male and first overall masters female and male.  Proceeds from the 5K Run will benefit the American Heart Association.
