Student Announcing Bid for Binghamton City Council
A Binghamton University student wants to get involved in local government.
Conrad Taylor is planning to run as a Democrat to seek a seat on Binghamton City Council. In a statement, Taylor said he intends to seek the Fourth District seat.
The 18-year-old Taylor said he is studying political science at Binghamton University.
Taylor scheduled a formal campaign announcement February 20.
In the statement, Taylor said he's running "in order to bring renewed energy and a new voice to the City Council."
Taylor indicated he hopes his campaign will "increase student participation in the community."
The Fourth District now is represented by Democrat Lea Webb.
