The 34th Annual Strawberry Festival in Owego wrapped-up late yesterday afternoon with  estimates of over 30,000 visitors turning out.  Over 200 vendors, organizations and businesses lined the streets of downtown Owego with booths and displays.  Most of Owego's shops and businesses reported plenty of visitors as well.  There were dozens of places to eat with the stars of the show... strawberries.

There were strawberry smoothies, strawberry milkshakes, strawberry drinks of all kinds and of course strawberry shortcake.  The day began with a parade.  There was plenty of entertainment for visitors.  Several bands performed live music.  There were puppet shows and bounce houses for the kids.

Many service clubs and boy scout members participated along with dozens of other volunteers.  Shuttle buses ran from parking areas at TOPS Market and Hickories Park to Main Street where the festivities began.
