The Stony Brook Seawolves proved too big for the Binghamton Bearcats to handle and went on to defeat BU 59-46 at the Island Federal Arena on Wednesday night.  Binghamton's defense forced the Seawolves to turn over the basketball 11 times in the first half but Stony Brook still held a 27-15 lead at halftime. Overall the Seawolves turned the ball over 25 times compared to 15 turnovers for the Bearcats.

Binghamton turned up the defensive heat again to start the second half and erased the 12 point Seawolves advantage and tied the game at 31-31.However, Stony Brook countered with a 15-0 run of their own and then never relinquished the lead again.

The Seawolves were keyed by the inside defensive play of 6' 11"  Jeff Otchere who  blocked seven shots and scored eight points. Okwasi Yeboah scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Stony Brook.

Binghamton was led by 12 points each from Caleb Stewart and Sam Sessoms. J.C. Show scored eight points for the Bearcats.  That now gives him 1001 career points.  He played one season at Bucknell before transferring to Binghamton.

The Bearcats are now 1-1 in America East.  The Seawolves move to 2-0.  Binghamton's next game is at UMBC next Wednesday night at 7:00 P.M.
