An Endwell man has been accused of punching and choking a woman during a dispute.

Authorities say 30-year-old Norris Singleton III was arrested just before 9 a.m. Tuesday following the incident in a home on Camelot Road in Endwell.

According to state police, the woman was hurt during the fight. Investigators say Singleton allegedly threatened her while holding a weapon. He also is accused of not letting her leave the home.

Police did not describe the nature of the injuries sustained by the woman. Her condition also was not released.

Authorities say children were in the home at the time of the dispute.

Singleton was charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. He also was charged with menacing, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Singleton was arraigned in Union town court and sent to Broome County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Police say an order of protection was issued by the court.
