Binghamton Mayor Richard David is expected to repeat some familiar themes in his latest State of the City Address, including increased public safety efforts.

The Republican is at the half-way mark of his first term in office and is expected to highlight increases in police presence, elimination of blight and work to improve roads and other city infrastructure.

The growing concern about drug abuse is also expected to get attention during the speech.

There have also been indications that the mayor plans to keep the tax rate steady for the upcoming year.
