The top high school baseball teams in New York state meet in Broome County this Friday and Saturday to decide championships in all five classifications.  The top four teams in each classification clash in semifinal games scheduled for Friday afternoon.  Then on Saturday the winner's in each semifinal game collide to determine the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Champions.

The format has been changed from previous years when the semifinal winners went on to play for the championship later in the day on Saturday.  This season semifinal winners will be decided on Friday with championship round games to be played on Saturday.

Five different venues will be used on Friday.  Semifinal contests are scheduled for 2 and 5 P.M. starts.  "AA" semifinals are scheduled for Union-Endicott.  Class "A" will be played at Binghamton University. Class "B" teams battle at Maine-Endwell.  Class "C" teams meets at Conlon Field and Class "D" games are scheduled for  NYSEG Stadium.

Championship games will be held at two venues with play beginning at 10 A.M. The Class "C" Championship will be decided at NYSEG Stadium. at 10. The "B" title will be decided at NYSEG Stadium at 1 P.M. Then at 4 P.M. the Class "A"  title will be decided at NYSEG Stadium.

Two championships will be decided at Binghamton University.  At 10 A.M the "D" title will be decided.  Then at 1 P.M. the Class "AA" title will be decided.

20 teams from all over the state will take part.  Four Section 4 teams are seeking state crowns. In Class "AA" action Horseheads meets  Section 8's Massapequa at 2 P.M on Friday.  In Class "B "it is Seton Catholic Central facing Royalton-Hartland at 5 P.M. at Maine-Endwell.  In Class "C" Lansing faces Avon at Conlon Field in Binghamton at 5 P.M. and at NYSEG Stadium Deposit/Hancock meets Brocton out of Section 6 at 5 P.M.
