The Vestal Board of Education is considering staff cuts to close a $1.9 million budget gap.At the March 12th public meeting, school officials said there was a possibility 17 jobs could be trimmed from elementary school programs and two math support positions could be cut.

Superintendent Mark LaRoach reminded the packed crowd that no decision has been finalized on any potential cuts.

Another meeting is set for the 26th of March before the board votes on a final plan in April to put before voters.
