Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a 25 year old Bronx man is accused of having numerous forged credit cards and checks and the equipment used to make them.

Deputies pulled 25 year old Leonard Ortiz over at around 1:45 a.m. September 17 for going 86 MPH in a 55 MPH zone on Route 17 in Hancock.

Deputies say they found dozens of forged credit cards and checks as well as the forging equipment, 8 ounces of marijuana, packaging envelopes and scales for weighing out the marijuana.

Ortiz is charged with 71 felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, one felony count of criminal possession of forgery devices, criminal possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without a license.

He was jailed on $50,000 bail.
