The Maine-Endwell Spartans are off to a 4-0 record through the first half of the regular season as they opened up a 41 - 7 lead at the half and cruised to a 55-7 victory over the Johnson City Wildcats at Spartan Stadium in Endwell on Saturday afternoon.

Speedster Luis Uceta opened up the scoring with 10:38 left in the first quarter when he caught a pass over the middle from quarterback Kyle Gallagher and outran the defense with a 65 yard touchdown grab.  He would add two more TDs before the first half came to a close.

M-E's other wingback speedster Justin Jacoby scored two more six-pointers on the ground for the Spartans who dominated play from start to finish.  The Spartans offensive and defensive lines took advantage of the absence of injured JC standout lineman Dashaun Jones (6-2, 295) to control the line of scrimmage.

Jake Haddock and Tyler Shelepak, both offensive  and defensive line stalwarts for Coach Matt Gallagher, spent much of the day in the Wildcats backfield breaking up plays and putting continual pressure on the Wildcats quarterback Zach Colgan.  The Spartans remain home this Saturday to host the Elmira Express (1-3) in a 1:30 kickoff.
