Southern Tier Rural Ride Information Center Featured on SouthernTier Close Up

Appearing on the November 2 edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, Program Coordinator, Mobility Management of South Central New York, Nick Cecconi talks about the fledgling Get There call center project that provides trip planning assistance and transportation information services to residents in rural areas in the Southern Tier and Central New York as well as the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Cecconi says the agency has been working for a little over a year and has been growing rapidly with requests for information that could help get people in outlying areas to appointments, grocery shopping and other destinations.

Cecconi says there seems to be more of a need for rural mobility information now than ten or twenty years ago when families lived nearer to each other and there were greater connections to members of the community and churches with people who could help with transportation
