The Southern Tier is getting $67.3 million in economic development funding in the 6th annual round of awards for ten regions in New York State.

The biggest winners in the Regional Economic Development Council Awards were Central New York, the Albany Region, the Mohawk Valley, Mid-Hudson and Long Island.  Each were awarded more than $80 million.

The awards were announced in Albany December 13.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David was at the state capitol for the announcement.  He has said the incentives help educational institutions, established companies and start-ups to generate income and jobs.
