Authorities say the 24-year-old Zikuski was arrested Monday for the warrant and for marijuana possession on Rubin Avenue on the East Side.

According to city police, Zikuski was remanded to Broome County Jail.

Police Chief Joseph Zikuski on Tuesday afternoon said his son was arrested for a probation violation. The chief declined to comment on the marijuana possession charge or other aspects of the arrest.

A city court judge late last month issued an arrest warrant for the younger Zikuski for the alleged violation of probation. He was on probation in connection with an assault charge.

Zikuski has a history of arrests for charges that have included driving while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
