Southern Tier Solar Works program director, Adam Flint appears on the July 11 edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up to answer a slew of questions about solar power.

Flint says the Southern Tier is slowly catching up with other parts of the state while New York State is slowly catching up with other states like California in tapping into solar energy.

Flint explains the incentives that are being offered in the region to help bring down the costs of purchasing or leasing solar units, a few of the qualifications for being granted incentives and some of the site requirements for being able to install solar panels.

Southern Tier Solar Works is stopping at farmer markets and other locations through the summer to provide information on solar power and getting free solar site assessments from installer partners.

Southern Tier Close Up airs Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
