Snowmobile Fatality in Oxford

A Bainbridge man is dead after crashing his snowmobile into a guiderail.

Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say 54 year old Michael Buchanan was riding on Quarry Road in Oxford at 10:40 p.m. January 31 when he apparently lost control of the machine, hit the rail and was ejected.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
