Snow Poses Roof Hazard in Twin Tiers

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file]
Property owners in the region are casting a wary eye upward as large amounts of snow on roofs is being further saturated by some rain.

February 15, a vacant home on Munsell Street in Binghamton was heavily damaged as the weight of snow caused part of the roof to cave in, pushing out a portion of a side wall.

The property owner knocked down the chimney and the City Code office says the rest of the problem should be addressed in 90 days.
