The huge Nor'easter that is moving up the coast is leaving its major mark on our region. Snow began to fall shortly after 3 AM and continued with high intensity through the day. The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service continues until 8 PM Wednesday.

Most if not all schools in the area were closed Tuesday.  A state of emergency was issued by Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and a similar order came from Binghamton Mayor Rich David.  Many other towns and villages followed with emergency or essential travel only statements.

In addition to school and office closings a number of businesses both large and small closed for the day.  Snow amounts varied with anywhere from a foot to 32 inches reported. An additional three inches is predicted overnight and more snow is likely on Wednesday.
