Broome County Sheriff's officials say a Town of Chenango teen told them she fell asleep at the wheel when her vehicle left West Chenango Road in the Town of Chenango shortly before 11:30 a.m. July 16.

Officials say 19 year old Kesley Franks over corrected and the vehicle slid across the oncoming lane, hit an embankment and overturned several times before coming to rest on its roof.

Emergency personnel had to cut the teen from the vehicle.

She was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment of minor injuries.  Deputies said Franks should be credited for wearing her seat belt.
