In a press release that was issued this (Friday) afternoon SkyWest Airlines operating as Delta Connection from the Greater Binghamton Airport to Detroit International Airport is going to be providing an additional flight soon.  That is welcome news for those looking to fly out of and into Binghamton.  United and American Airlines earlier had pulled out of Binghamton leaving just the Delta Connection operating out of Binghamton.

SkyWest already operates two roundtrip flights daily between Binghamton and Detroit.  The release states the flight will be an afternoon one but no specific departure times were released.  The additional flight is set to begin on Wednesday, March 1.

The added flight will be on the 50 seat CRJ-200.  Also included in the press release is word that Greater Binghamton Airport will be affected by the major reconstruction project in May involving the primary runway.  Due to restoration and paving work all air traffic will be diverted to the airport's secondary runway.
