Chenango County Sheriff's officials say a 16 year old boy is facing a felony drunk driving charge and other counts after deputies say the teen drove through their road safety checkpoint in Oxford September 30 with a 3 year old child in the vehicle in an improper child restraint seat.

The Town of Plymouth youth had the toddler in the back seat of the vehicle, not properly restrained, according to deputies.

The teen is charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated under New York's Leandra's Law for having a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle, driving while ability impaired by drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.

Bail was set at $100
