Six Broome Men Charged with Drunken Driving
Binghamton-area police agencies arrested several people at DWI checkpoints over the Saint Patrick's Day weekend.
Authorities say a half-dozen men were charged with driving while intoxicated. Other arrests were made for offenses not related to alcohol.
According to the Johnson City police department, one driver faces a felony DWI count while the other five were charged with misdemeanor DWI.
Officials say 46-year-old Phillip Bubats of Johnson City was charged with felony driving while intoxicated.
Those charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated were: 51-year-old Paul Fedorwich Jr. of Johnson City; 36-year-old Todd Place of Johnson City; 33-year-old Justin Madden of Lisle; 26-year-old Richard Blackley of Binghamton; and 26-year-old James Howard of Binghamton.
Tickets also were issued for vehicle and traffic violations. Police say four drivers were charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.
