Johnson City grad and long-time Binghamton University Head Baseball Coach Tim Sinicki has been named the America East Baseball Coach of the Year.  Sinicki, who won his fifth America East Coach of the Year Honors, was a unanimous pick by the other coaches in the conference.  Binghamton was expected to finish in fifth place this season in the coaches Preseason Poll.  The Bearcats completed their regular season conference slate with a record of 19-5 and claimed first place honors which earns them the top seed in the America East Championship Tournament.

With the tournament's top seed the Bearcats had a bye today (Wednesday).  Their first game is set for noon tomorrow (Thursday) against Albany.  The Great Danes won their first game in the tournament opener defeating UMBC 8-5.  In another final reported it was Stony Brook 1 and Maine 0. All games are being played in Lowell, Massachusetts.
