Sidney Man Dead Following Domestic Dispute

A Delaware County man is dead following a domestic incident November 23.

New York State Police responded to a home on County Route 28 in Fishs Eddy in the Town of Hancock at around 1:30 a.m. for a report of an assault.  Officials found a woman had suffered facial injuries before she was able to get out of the home.

Negotiators tried, for over 7 hours to contact 52 year old Ronald Milke, Junior.  Following numerous, unsuccessful attempts to contact the man, authorities entered the home at around quarter of nine.

Troopers say they found Milke inside the home, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The woman who was injured in the incident was transported to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment.

The investigation is continuing.
